About
In 1932 Ken Erion founded a company to publish City Directories- the Johnson Publishing Company, named for his wife’s maiden name.
Around 1956 the salesmen of Johnson Publishing Company expressed such a desire for a convenient place to find information on Chambers of Commerce nationwide, Johnson Publishing started to compile that information in addition to City Directories. Thus, the World Chamber of Commerce Directory was born and used daily as a sales tool by the same salesmen who asked for its creation.
In 1986 Johnson Publishing had grown to publish Phone Books as well and was sold to US West. The only book retained by Johnson Publishing was the internally distributed directory of Chambers of Commerce.
Now in its 53rd year of publication, the primary vision of the directory has not changed: maintain accuracy of the information and share that information with the entities that need it.
Jan Pierce, daughter of Ken Erion, with a small group of dedicated individuals, have been publishing the World Chamber of Commerce Directory for 23 years.
Now we are looking forward to advancing our company into the business world of today. We have a brand new website that allows you to make updates to your Listing with one simple form and order the Directory online. We also offer customized mailing lists, electronically or printed, based on your business’s search criteria.

Kristin and Jan hard at work the day the 2010 World Chamber Directory arrived.
Since 2010, we have offered an electronic version of the World Chamber Directory. In addition to being instantly available for download, environmentally friendly, and a lot lighter than carrying around the printed book, it includes a mid-year updates!
Building on the premise of convenient digital products, we now also offer sections of the World Chamber Directory available for download, including each State, EDC’s, CVB’s, U.S. Chambers of Commerce, Foreign Chambers of Commerce, and Canadian Chambers of Commerce, all available separately at great savings!
Looking further into the future, we have begun to lay the groundwork for a fully web-based subscription system allowing for an online membership and access to up-to-the-minute updated data for the entire book.
Thank you for your business. We have enjoyed serving you over the last half-century, and look forward to serving you for a long time to come!
